Parish Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer Vacancy
Part-time – 10 hours per week – Permanent
Salary – New SCP 20-28 pro rata (£25,991 – 32,234)
depending on experience
Blisland Parish Council seeks a part-time Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer (RFO). Work will be from home with one monthly meeting (currently virtual) on the second Thursday of the month plus others as necessary.
Blisland is a village on the edge of Bodmin Moor with a population of 600+. The Council’s precept for 2020/21 is £29,561 and our current projects are forming a Neighbourhood Development Plan and maintaining a public toilet and the Village Institute which is owned by the Parish Council. The Parish Council consists of ten Councillors plus the Parish Clerk and one cleaner/maintenance person.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons who can work independently and flexibly with a strong community focus. The Parish Clerk will be responsible for the administration of the business and finances of the Council and will need to be able to hit the ground running.
The ideal candidate will have excellent administrative and communications skills, good knowledge of financial procedures plus a high level of IT expertise and an ability to be flexible to the needs of the job. A working knowledge of Local Government procedures is desirable and the successful candidate would be supported to work towards the Certificate in Local Council Administration.
